Botswana- Home to the World’s Largest Inland Delta

Looking for a one-of-a-kind adventure? Look no further than Botswana! This African gem boasts some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes and wildlife in the world. From the vast expanse of the Okavango Delta, where you can witness unique wildlife sightings on a traditional mokoro canoe ride, to the stunning views of Chobe National Park, where massive herds of elephants roam free, Botswana offers a truly unforgettable safari experience. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the San people, take a sunset cruise on the Chobe River, or simply marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the Makgadikgadi salt pans. Botswana is a destination that will capture your heart and leave you longing for more. (This is one of our top Bucket List destinations here at SCT!)

When to Visit: There are two distinct travel seasons for Botswana: Dry Season (May-October) which is most popular for animal spotting as the Okavango levels are typically at their highest, and then Green Season (November-April) where you’re most likely to spot animals giving birth and lower prices and some rain.

Who Should Visit: Botswana is a fantastic destination for those who are looking for a luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime trip.

How to Get There and Around: The majority of visitors are part of a safari tour, where arrangements are already made through the tour company. Otherwise, if you’re looking to venture on your own, renting a car is going to be your best option.

FUN FACT: Taylor Swift’s music video ‘Wildest Dreams’ was shot in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.
