The Where:

we give back

At Salt City Travel, we are committed to giving back. As a way to contribute to charitable causes and make a positive impact, we donate 5% of each booking to several local and global organizations at the end of the year. We believe in supporting causes that align with our values and strive to make a difference in the world. By booking with us, you not only satisfy your wanderlust but also contribute to making the world a better place.

“The CNY Cat Coalition was founded in 2002 and is one of Central New York’s largest cat rescue/adoption and spay/neuter promoters. Our mission is to change the world for homeless and at-risk cats—four paws at a time. We are a 100% volunteer organization comprising dozens of foster homes and hundreds of active volunteers who help manage all of our life-saving programs. In 2022, we found new adoptive homes for more than 900 homeless cats and facilitated spay/neuter surgeries for nearly 2,500 cats—preventing thousands of unwanted kittens!”

“Malala Fund works to secure 12 years of free, safe, quality education for all girls so they can learn and lead without fear. We focus on secondary school, typically grades 7–12, when gender discrimination increasingly affects adolescent girls’ futures. Completing secondary school opens up opportunities for girls to make their own life choices, allowing them to reach their fullest potential.”

“The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ young people. We provide information & support to LGBTQ
young people 24/7, all year round.”

“Warwick Valley Humane Society is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community and beyond by protecting all animals and keeping lost and homeless pets safe and happily sheltered until being reunited or adopted.  We advocate for compassion, respect, humane treatment and responsibility for all animals, and promoting spaying and neutering through education and programs.”

“Our mission is to strengthen American Indian economies to support healthy Native communities. We invest in and create innovative institutions and models that strengthen asset control and support economic development for American Indian people and their communities.

With the support of individuals, foundations, corporate and tribal donors, First Nations Development Institute improves economic conditions for Native Americans through technical assistance & training, advocacy & policy, and direct financial grants in multiple key areas: Achieving Native Financial Empowerment, Investing in Native Youth, Strengthening Tribal & Community Institutions, Nourishing Native Foods & Health, Stewarding Native Lands.”

“The Central New York Community Foundation is a public charity that turns community dollars into community change. Established in 1927, it receives contributions from donors, manages them to grow over time and then distributes funding to address the region’s greatest needs.

The foundation has invested more than $270 million in community projects that benefit Central New York. It also serves as a civic leader, convener and sponsor of strategic initiatives that foster a thriving and equitable region and address the most critical issues of our time.”
