Celebrating the Holidays with Disney
We know what you’re thinking “Didn’t I just read a blog post about Walt Disney World?” Yes, you did. But with the holiday season right around the corner, we here at Salt City Travel wanted to shed a little light on celebrating those special days with Disney. From Disney World, to Disneyland to the Disney Cruise Line, there are so many fun, incredible and memorable ways to celebrate.
Halloween
Is it only July 1st? Absolutely. Are we talking about Halloween already? Heck yeah we are! Why? Because Disney parks start celebrating as soon as August! No matter which coast of the USA you’re on or if you choose to celebrate on the high seas, there is a family friendly not-so-spooky celebration to be had.
Walt Disney World
For our first foray into Halloween delights, we are heading to Walt Disney World in Celebration, Florida. Starting on August 9, 2024 and running until October 31, select nights at the Magic Kingdom will come alive with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This family friendly fête features exclusive specialty food and treats, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, a holiday themed castle spectacular, and so much more! Of course, Mickey, Minnie and friends will be available for meet and greets donning their Halloween best. Feeling a bit…witchy? Then check out the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular starting the one and only Sanderson Sisters! Even the rides have a fun, spellbinding twist! Oh, and don’t forget the exclusive merch * wink *.
Disneyland
Next, let us take you across the country to Disneyland in Anaheim, California where Oogie Boogie himself is throwing a soiree that is simply to die for. Starting in August until October, select evenings at Disney’s California Adventure will be packed full of “Grim Grinning Good Times” at the Oogie Boogie Bash. Here you will find frightful delights to enchant the senses. From a special Halloween version of Guardians of the Galaxy, to family friendly fun in “Radiator Screams”, exclusive merch, food and photo opportunities, there is truly something for everyone. Not to mention that Jack and Sally themselves will be stopping by to meet all of their favorite friends!
Disney Cruise Line
Lastly, we head over to the Disney Cruise Line for the one and only Halloween on the High Seas. On select sailings aboard the Disney Magic, Dream, Wish and Fantasy, you’ll encounter your favorite characters wearing their exclusive DCL costumes, devilishly delicious cuisine, and so much more! With Halloween on the High Seas you’re sure to to have the best of times while sailing on the waves.
christmas
“First you want me to think about Halloween, now CHRISTMAS?!” Okay, okay, we understand. Nobody wants to wish time away, especially the warm months. But hear us out! The winter holidays are a magical time for loved ones to come together and enjoy one another’s company. So why not take those same warm, fuzzy feelings and amplify them at the most magical or happiest place on earth?!
Walt Disney World
Each year, Walt Disney World magically transforms from a spooky spectacular to a magical winter wonderland overnight. (No, really. It literally happens overnight!) Picture it: the sweet smells of Main Street USA wafting through the air with garland festooning every building. Sounds pretty great, right? If you’re like us and completely agree- and perhaps want to change up tradition or get away from the cold- then Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is for you! Much like with the autumnal festivities, Disney World goes all out for their winter event. While we don’t have exact details for 2024 yet, we know that on select nights from November through December there will be exclusive shows, parade, merch and mouthwatering treats around every corner. Of course we will update you as soon as we have the details!
Disneyland
Much like their Floridian counterpart, Christmastime at Disneyland is nothing short of extraordinary. Of course there are exclusive treats, merch and tons of stunning decor all around. But what this California classic has that WDW doesn’t is that “It’s a Small World” and The Haunted Mansion take on a fanciful holiday makeover as well. “It’s a Small World” transforms its facade with a dazzling display of lights from top to bottom, while The Haunted Mansion transforms into a sight straight from Christmastown! Jack Skellington himself assures that no corner is left untouched.
Disney Cruise Line
Prefer to celebrate the season on the seven seas? Well then consider booking a Very Merrytime (see what they did there?) cruise! On select sailings aboard the Disney Wish, Dream, Fantasy and Magic, you’ll find yuletide wonder around every corner. Plus, you can meet all of your favorite characters adorning their wintery best!
Fun Fact: It takes 150 semi-trailer truckloads full of decorations to decorate 24 resorts, 4 theme parks, Downtown Disney and other Disney locations.
Sounds pretty fantastic, right? We thought so too. Want to learn more? We’d be happy to help! Reach out to us today to start making those magical Disney memories come to life!
